Free Crochet Pattern in English & Dutch: French Mini Peacock Feather

free crochet pattern coaster peacock feather thecuriocraftsroom the curio crafts room

Here it is! My first free crochet pattern, the French Mini Peacock Feather (you can read why it is called "French" in my previous post).

In my Ravelry and Etsy shops you can purchase a PDF version of this pattern.

The advantages of the PDF version are:

  • Clear layout with instructions in bullet-point format
  • Stitch Chart
  • Close up photos
  • Similar graphic design as all of my other PDF patterns
  • You support my work so that I can continue to publish free patterns and offer discount codes
Thank you!

Scheepjes Catona left to right: 128, 398, 257.

PATTERN

            Base
            Yarn A (Scheepjes Catona 257)
Start with a magic ring, which I like best because with a magic ring you can very neatly determine how large (or small) you would like the opening to be.
If you find it hard to make a magic ring, start with chain 6 and then form a ring by slip stitching into the first chain made.

Magic ring.

Round 1

Ch 1 on top of the magic ring chain (=1st hdc) and work in the ring: 2 hdc, 5 dc, 1 trc, 5 dc, 3 hdc
slst in top ch of 1st hdc to close this round.
NB: If you started with ch 6 to form a ring, you start with ch 2 for your 1st hdc.
Total of 17 stitches.

  10. Thank you for this tutorial & pattern! I have used embroidery thread and a slightly smaller hook for mine. I was wanting to clarify something on the final round, are we making the picot-4 in the chain 1 space with a picot-3 in the stitches on either side of it?

  11. These are gorgeous. But I was hoping for the pattern to the photo you have above your website header ... the one with the beautiful scalloped edges and embroidery-like stitching coming out from the center. Is that pattern available anywhere? Thank you so much for sharing.

I' ve made my mind to start with the beginner's level. But is there a charted or graphic pattern for the non-english non-french? It would be a great help~!!♡
