Crystal Coaster or Ornament: Free Crochet Pattern

free crochet pattern coasters thecuriocraftsroom the curio crafts room scheepjes catonaIn my previous post about these coasters, I selected some teeny tiny 10g cutie pie Catona balls (I can come up with even more adjectives for these yummy, fun and addictive small balls if necessary ;-) for a little project and today I have the free pattern for you! I designed a crystal motif that you can use as coasters or as Christmas ornaments. They would look lovely in white and you could make a very festive garland with perhaps a touch of glitter. I myself went for coasters as I never really decorate much for Christmas.

Round 3: 179 Topaz
Round 4: 404 English Tea
Round 5 + 6: 130 Old Lace

For the motif in the second picture I used:
Round 1 + 2: 189 Royal Orange
Round 3: 386 Peach
Round 4: 414 Vintage Peach
Round 5 + 6: 263 Petal Peach

For the motif in the third picture I used:
Round 1 + 2: 128 Tyrian Purple
Round 3: 251 Garden Rose
Round 4: 222 Tulip
Round 5 + 6: 238 Powder Pink

For the motif in the fourth picture I used:

Blocking
To get the most beautiful result, the motifs needs blocking. For blocking you can use Styrofoam or blocking mats and pins, but you could also put a towel on your ironing board and pin them onto that. Spray with some water and let dry naturally.
