It's a wrap! Excuse the pun, I couldn't help myself. My very first shawl/wrap design is finished! I loved designing and making it because it's such a relaxing project. I usually design small motifs with lots of different colours, so it was really a new experience to make something in a single colour that I could work on for a few hours in a row. I'll publish the pattern here on my blog next week. It'll be available in both English and Dutch.
Shawl wish list
As you may have read in my previous post about this design, I had a personal wish list for this wrap. I think the final result ticks all of the boxes: dense fabric, warm but breathable, single shade, texture and a very relaxing project with minimal counting.
I actually made two wraps: a size S (purple) for my mum and a size L (black) for myself. It's such an easy, adaptable design that you can make it in any size you want.
Size L
As you can see in the first photo above, the purple wrap in size S has a quirky detail at the bottom hem. I added three pointy bits just to give it something extra. I didn't add them to the large wrap because I wanted to give it a completely different look. The size alone gives it an entirely different feel, as if it's a completely new design.
It's a little hard to photograph a black shawl, but I hope you can see how versatile the shape is. You can wear it in many different ways and it's fun to play around with it to see what suits you best.A name for the wrap
I haven't come up with a name for the wrap yet, so I would like to ask your help. If you have any name suggestions, please either go to my Facebook group called The Curio Crafts Room Community or Instagram account @thecuriocraftsroom and comment on the relevant post. I'd love to hear from you!

Gorgeous. I love designs that use one color. I love the purple color. Great that you can make the size you like with this pattern. A name idea? The Wrap-up Shawl.
