Star Beam Shawl
A little over a year ago I designed three shawls all differently shaped (see below for photos). I really love designing shawls and I can tell you that I'm working on number 4, with ideas for two more. But while I'm busy experimenting with different shapes and stitch patterns, I also wanted to revisit the shawl that is my favourite - although it's very hard to say that as I really love all three. Yet the Star Beam Shawl is special to me as I just love the dragon tail shape.
In between designing more shawls, I wanted a relaxing make with a yarn I hadn't worked with before: Scheepjes Whirl - Fine Art in combination with Scheepjes Merino Soft (yarn details below). So I thought I'd write a quick blog post to show you the result and to link to the free pattern and premium PDF pattern in my shops in case you fancy making one for yourself.
Pattern
You can find the free pattern for the Star Beam Shawl in US/UK terms in an earlier blog post here and the DUTCH pattern here.
In my Ravelry and Etsy shops you can purchase a premium PDF version of this pattern (US/UK and DUTCH).
The advantages of the premium PDF are:
- Chart
- Close-up photos
- Clear layout with instructions in bullet-point format
- Same graphic design as all of my other PDF patterns
- You support my work so that I can continue to publish free patterns and offer discount codes
Thank you!
Yarn details: Whirl - Fine Art & Merino Soft
The first Star Beam Shawl I made was in Scheepjes Our Tribe, a much lighter weight yarn in a combination of 70% Superwash Merino Wool and 30% Polyamide.
